Hi there, I believe you have to get pee definitely on the test end (otherwise the pee doesn't move across the reactive HCG detecting strip inside the test) and that if some pee splashes on the "window" (if it's an uncovered window ie. a paper/card test) then it can make it more likely to reveal evaporation lines ie. very faint / you have to squint to see it kind of lines.
